Bird-watching is spreading also in Italy, thanks to a promotional activity by environmental associations. It is also a complementary activity of trekking and hiking, especially in natural reserves.

It cab be practiced by people of all ages, and especially by boys who want to spend some time very close to nature.

The surroundings of Casoli Val di Lima are good places for birdwatching, thanks to the rocky sides where rapacious birds build their nest, and gorges where many kinds of bird pass through during migration.

The near natural reserves - Orrido di Botri e Balzo Nero – let the visitors watch royal eagles and other big birds of prey (i.e. buzzards).

Near the lake, a wooden roof-terrace was built (equipped for day-time and night-time bird-watching), to watch rapacious, migratory and other birds. Beside standing position bird-watching, the photo-hunt of birds is also possible.
